Once again, I embraced the opportunity for an exciting photoshoot with model Nicole Jearis after the cinematic headshot session. Even though I tend to shoot my cinematic headshots in this location, I realized that the weather conditions and distracting backgrounds were challenging when taking portraits. When I saw Dani Diamonds' images on his website, I noticed that he often scouts shaded urban environments, which provide soft light on his subjects and interesting background colours. Unfortunately, my location is a fully exposed park with only a small shaded area in the middle. Don't get me wrong—this park is beautiful and has some stunning sights. However, it suffers from poor maintenance, making it a less desirable spot for photography.
The other challenge I faced was the blown-up highlights on my subject and the background caused by harsh direct sunlight in the unshaded park.
Once the photoshoot wrapped up, I dove into the editing process. I brought Dani Diamonds' retouching techniques to life on the images. The transformation was nothing short of magical!
