Music Album (Part 6)

How to Shoot Music Album Covers

Written on the 28th of February, 2023

I continued my photoshoot with my friend, rapper Hussein Romani, aka Manello.

The sixth theme is a triadic primary colour image. For the first image on the left below, I used one light against a white background, which appears brighter than in the second image on the right below, where I used two lights against a grey background.

I achieved the blue colour in the background using Adobe Lightroom by setting the white balance to a cool 3000 kelvin. Then, I warmed the white balance of the subject with a mask, adjusting it to +85. The result is a stunning interplay of cool and warm tones, creating a sense of harmony and depth, which ultimately led to a triadic colour scheme.

I cropped the image to a 1:1 aspect ratio, which is the standard for a music album cover.
