I planned to take a cinematic headshot of my friend, Talal AlDuaij. While I waited for him, a friendly cat followed me around. I had my Nikon D850 camera and my Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens. I began snapping photos of the cat and felt a surge of confidence this time, thanks to my upgraded camera gear compared to my last cat photoshoot.
The cat was very photogenic and posed for me, following me around. I successfully captured three stunning images.
I've always loved the image of a low-key black cat with yellow eyes. Unfortunately, the cat in the photo wasn't black, but I was able to colorize it in Adobe Photoshop. It took me about an hour and a half of tweaking and making minor adjustments to achieve the final result.
As a general rule, I dislike making significant changes to my subjects. However, I found it necessary to do so in this particular image. Ideally, I would have loved to see a black cat and redo the entire photoshoot if I had the chance. However, the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop were too tempting, so I decided to proceed with the edit.
