I continued my photoshoot with makeup artist Nouf Al-Essa and model Klaudia Ashkanani. But this time, I used continuous lights without any diffusion, and it felt like Classic Hollywood. I set the key light to 3200 Kelvin, the background light to 5600 Kelvin, and my camera’s white balance to 3200 Kelvin to create a colour contrast.
Non-diffused direct light can reveal pores and blemishes, which are not desirable in beauty photography. However, I concealed some by dodging and burning them in Adobe Photoshop.
In my next beauty photoshoot, I plan to use a modifier in my key light, more lights, a reflector to reveal some of the shadows, and a light meter for better exposure.
